This natural Christmas angel hanging has been crafted from abaca. The origin of the abaca plant (a variety of the banana tree) is in the southern part of the Philippines where there are rain forests and highly humid atmospheric conditions. Fibres are removed from the abaca stalk to make ropes, clothing, and paper-based materials. Handmade by skilled artisans working with Community Crafts Association of the Philippines (CCAP) in the Philippines.
